Academic coursework.
I believe that in order to teach at any level, one must have a deep understanding of their field. This allows educators to help students make connections and understand how each topic comes together to form the large cohesive landscape of mathematics.
As such, my undergraduate degree is in pure mathematics. I also continue to take graduate mathematics courses to widen my understanding of the field.
With a strong foundation in mathematics, I looked to enhance my practice by discovering more about pedagogy, andragogy, learning theories, best practices, and the 21st century learner. Completing my M.S.Ed specializing in digital age learning, eLearning, and technology, I explored concepts of online learning, instructional design, and integrating technology into the classroom with the Johns Hopkins DALET program. Below is a list of key courses I participated in during my formal education followed by a selection of artifacts.
